I want to know if a computer moves to different switchport (user moves to another room/building, gets new workstation etc). I don't know how it should be configured. Idea is that UDT watches switch ports and if computer behind it changes, it would make an alarm. Basicly I would watch every swich port in our LAN (about 1000 ports) and get email from moved computers (that doesn't happen too frequently really).
There was watch list function available also in last UDT version I had (don't remember, maybe it was 2.5?) and I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted. It just noticed when computer came online, no matter which switch port it was connected. So what is the difference in Watch list between previous versions? I didn't see any. So I was waiting for this new version, which I undestood should have been better in this area...
Another thing: If I make a white list considering every workstation in our company to get alerts from real rogue computers, I would have to use wildcards in computer dns name. Is it possible? Didn't get % or * to work...
